Koji Namiki, un jeune lanceur talentueux, qui avait remporté le championnat national de baseball des lycées entre à l'université, mais se blesse peu après au coude. Lui et ses coéquipiers travaillent dur pour revenir sur le terrain en plaçant tous ses espoirs sur une nouvelle balle lente, "le terrain magique".
